Contactless payment is easy with your Degussa Bank company credit card.
How does contactless payment work?
Wherever you see this icon, it means that you can use contactless payment:
You make a purchase for a small amount of up to €50.
You hold your card close to the payment terminal.
You hear a beep or see a light come on – this means the payment is confirmed.
You will receive your receipt as usual – and that’s it!
You can also use contactless payment for amounts over €50. However, you must confirm these payments by entering your PIN on the payment terminal .
What do you have to do?
You do not need to do anything. You can make contactless payments with all Degussa credit cards newly issued from 1 July 2017. To see whether or not your card has this service, look for the contactless icon on your card.
To activate the contactless payment function, simply insert your new card into the payment terminal when you first use it.
- You can then use contactless payment for your next purchase.
Of course, you can still make payments as usual. Simply insert your card into the payment terminal and enter your PIN. You have the choice for every single payment you make.
How secure is contactless payment?
It is just as secure as paying using your PIN or signature.
It is not possible to make double or incorrect payments.
Certain control mechanisms for contactless transactions are applied for your security. Because of this, you may sometimes be asked for your PIN for contactless payments under €50. This is dependent on the sum of the contactless payments already made, the number of contactless payment transactions and the limits stored in the payment terminal.
- Has a contactless payment not been accepted (declined)? Simply insert your card into the payment terminal and confirm with your PIN or signature instead.
Are your personal data protected?
Absolutely. Only information that is required for the payment transaction can be transmitted. Personal data such as names are never transmitted.
